Professional Journey:
Kerry wasn’t diagnosed at school, which was a shame for her as her behaviour would have made a lot more sense to her at the time. She had much better things to do than learn school subjects. In fact, she had the whole world to save with her various projects on the go. Unsurprisingly, she didn’t do very well at school but was fortunate to have a second chance through on-the-job training and further education.
Kerry started out as a police officer and then went into adult education being passionate about the second chances this gave to so many adults. She went on to educate, manage and own businesses across many countries – Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the UK. She brings over 30 years of varied work experience including leadership, management, corporate training, team building, sales and marketing.
During lockdown, as a Kerry learned more about ADHD, she became aware of patterns of behaviour in the entrepreneurs she was coaching. As with herself, the majority of the challenges were with executive functions. Kerry put herself through the ADDCA coaching process – as well as having a massive impact on her, she was able to immediately see the potential this coaching would have on her entrepreneur clients.
After receiving her coach training from the prestigious ADD Coaching Academy, New York, she became a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and is now looking at ways to support different neurodivergent adults through affordable coaching, education and relationship building activities.
